School has been back in session for consecutive weeks now and the "grind" is tough. Between homework and longer school days a student gets pretty tired. It's always nice to relax with a few of your great friends on a week night.
Tonight's adventure, wasn't really that adventurous. But, it was still very fun. Kyle, Carsonian, and I were back at it, this time my friend from North Carolina tagged along. She's here on Spring Break and we hadn't seen her in almost a year. Even though there was a boisterous storm threatening our evening, the Cadillac arrived at each of our houses and off we went to Starbucks. Starbucks isn't my most favorite coffee shop out there, but I have definitely consumed many of their drinks.
A rainy night, coffee, and friends makes for a wonderful time; we sat in Starbucks for a long period of time discussing past adventures, friends, and everything else we could think of. It was great seeing how coffee could bring four friends together to converse and laugh without even getting on our phones for 90% of the time, that truly is an amazing feat. The night was still young and we had no intention to venture back home so why not go to Barnes and Noble? That goes perfect with the rainy-coffee night theme.
I called my good friend Sandy up (the world class scholar and soccer player) to join us at Barnes and Noble. We scavenged the aisles of the bookstore finding puppets of Kermit the Frog and the cookie monster, to finding plays written by Shakespeare that Kyle and Carson acted out on the children's section stage. Katy (our friend from NC) acted as the tree in the parts I saw. Sandy gave me insight on what book I should read next, ( I really should be reading more these days) which I purchased with one of the many Barnes and Noble gift cards I received for my birthday.
Although the adventure was not long tonight, it proved that simple trips around NLR can be just as fun. As long as you have the right people, a little bit of rain, and some good coffee, everything will be alright.
